Hello everyone; I like to address an article I had read a few years back called, The Future of Re-Shoring in Canada; by Nigel Southway, May 2016 in the Manufacturing Automation Magazine. In the event of off-shoring where a great amount of manufacturing based products left our country for the purpose of cheap labour and overextended supply chains. Although there is an attraction to re-shoring else ware other than Canada, perhaps there is an alternative in choosing Canada. I will give you 5 good reasons, Progressive Process of Product People and Profession. This Alternative Institutional Development supporting the re-manufacturing base in this country and the support of any re-shoring that may be developed. Through a very unique Unprecedented Skills Training College+, however loosely the term innovative is used these days this is truly ground breaking. The attraction is based upon a consistent cost format, short supply chain, recruitment, R&D, the possibilities of national industry policy incentives politically speaking, where there would be no eroding of a skilled workforce in this development.
I can not speak for our government, or our manufacturing sectors, or our existing public educational institutions and their supporting organizations. However, I can only speak of a more Direct Approach creating the thrust like the action of a spear to the heart of the problem. When it comes to manufacturing, education, and skills training it just doesn't get any better than this new institutional development being presented where many sectors could take full advantage of this new alternative institutional. We have been Advocating and Promoting for years but truly the term Private get in their way? It is imperative to build numerous infrastructures needed for economic growth in our country. This institutional developmental change, creating a paradigm shift forward, an interest contributing to, and embracing our next generation of Canadians & Indigenous youths.
Economic growth starts with people, knowledge based, experienced, educated, in the real world of how things are applied. In another reflection upon this article in regards to safety as being "Punitive". I have to share my thoughts upon this. "Skilled Trades" safety is an implemented process applied upon entry as an apprentice, and continues throughout their 4 to 5 year 4000 or 5000 hour process and beyond after obtaining their Journeyman Red Seal status. Knowing what safety measures are required in completion of each and every job moving forward. With know industry experience one can come out of a local college safety program and have the authority to implement and change things making them more problematic and more difficult to achieve job completion. “My Thoughts” This new institutional development will apply an integrated apprenticeship/safety program that designates credibility with experience a full Journeyman status coupled with a full safety designated Certification? A Dual Program System opening up many opportunities and diversifying one's career base initiatives "Job Specific". This is one of many Dual Type Programs that would be implemented in this New Unprecedented Private Industry Based Non-Traditional Vocational Technical College+ (university) and becoming a TDA Training Delivery Agent.
As indicated above a (CC)“Competitive Competitor” is our directional foundation in implementing these two entities that are uniquely designed to work together. Through a Not-For-Profit Board of Directors of 3 to start, in leading this College (University) development, soliciting those with the background of the inner workings of educational institutions. Providing guidance, administrative functions in developing curriculum and running and organization of this Magnitude. Also lending credibility in achieving financial backing from various levels other than Government? However, a Private Institution in past practice is never funded by Government? Secondly, a Board of Directors creating a leading edge forward developing our Industrial Manufacturing and (For-Profit) side, where industry being a "KEY" contributor of students (Sponsorship), the expertise of Industry Leaders would be invaluable from both a business standpoint and a program development standpoint ensuring workers are acquiring the skills their employers and industry needs. Together bringing Phate Vocational Technical College+ (University) and PH. Industrial Incorporation to Fruition.
