The Jedi - With A "Maverick" Approach To A System Unchanged And Remains The Same

Hello everyone two things come to mind in the midst of our recent accelerated interests in Apprenticeships? One, stated in the title called "The Jedi" meaning one who shows extraordinary skill or expertise in a specific field or endeavor. Two, also stated in the title called "The Maverick" meaning an independent-minded person who defies conventions or refuses to follow group rules. Reflecting upon the jedi & maverick which corresponds with one of my previous blog article links stated here called (Stand-Alone) among my many other supporting article postings which I would encourage you all to view advocating for this new private industry-based college university experience. https://www.phatevocationaltechnicalcollegeuniversity.com/post/stand-alone-carrying-it-s-own-functionality-independent-self-sufficient

Note: My expression here applies to all of North America in the link below. With "Great Respect" to all those who lead in education, does anyone think "First" by stating - “It’s Not For Me, It’s For Them”? Now the need to "Re-Imagine"? "Really"? I don’t think you can embrace the needs of employers/skilled trades or others in their workplace by not “Walking A Mile In Their Shoes”, the place of work has always been a place of work? “Like Your Place And Mine” different but required. However, from “Out Side Looking In” where dozens of self supporting colleagues all trying to transform lives together meaning (Yours or Ours)? “Great Words But One Of Us Gets The Short End Of The Stick”?

Note; If the re-imagining was at all possible and proven we would have resolved the problem 30 years ago especially here in Canada? How does someone imagine something they know absolutely nothing about? "So", where does the problem actually lie"? The value of a degree = The value of work? I believe this was stated somewhat similar recently in another link stating Future of Work = Future of College. (See Link 5 below). So here we have 4 Values "Future, Degree, College", & Work. How incredible it seems just overnight everywhere we look has now become an apprenticeship? Sounds awfully like the "Rhetoric Family" hard at work, same “BS” different label? "Really, One Word Changes The World"? However, all 4 values and so much more are imbedded deeply within this new institutional development addressing Your Future, Your Education & Skills, Your Choice Of An Institution, Your Ability To Become Employable, Debt Free, Physically Fit, Or Perhaps An Entrepreneur.

"HISTORY ALWAY TELLS THE STORY" So here I am sharing a little history once again from 2001 through to May 2021 below. What's needed here are "Serious Investors, Stakeholders, & Industry Partnerships", as indicated in our Maple-Leaf Banner above. As an example providing they actually acknowledge our National Priority. Or do we continue to embrace the "Rhetoric Family Values"? This institution is and will become a Private Institutional development, and will create very direct innovative pathways for industry and our next generation. By design we will create a strong "Merit-Base" referring to individuals quality of being good, deserving, or worthy of praise, reward, or attention. It indicates the intrinsic value, of excellence, or justification, where the values of entry will deviate away from all the narratives of "Nonsense"?

2001 - Adult Training Programs would be expensive and may prompt federal-provincial struggle - Faced with a looming national crisis that threatens to strangle the country's growth and living standards within a few decades. Giving incentives to private industry to make employee training a top priority. While government has ruled out creating its own training programs, it is seeking ways to give incentives to private industry to do more? Sector councils that bring together employers, unions, and community colleges to identify skills shortages and develop curricula and training programs cover only 25 industry groups so far. If we don't get all the stakeholders in the same place and begin to acknowledge that this is a national priority, across jurisdictions and across sectors we are not going to make any headway.

Note: This was 25 years ago What a "Crock" of "BS"? Now here we are a few decades later still not working? And how interesting they projected strangling growth and living standards (Today)? And where's the "BS" incentives for our "Private Industry-Based College University"? Where we have for decades been advocating those values of such? What's interesting also is just how all of the "Podium Preachers" today that speak on behalf of the skilled trades have absolutely "No Trade Background" other than their Degree's in "?" perhaps relating to the Rhetoric Family. Notice the first sentence stating "Looming National Crisis"? Intentionally Predicted & Strategically Orchestrated? My Thoughts.

2000 - Retooling Your Workers - Training - A structured on the job system will mean less time in the classroom and more time on the equipment getting hands-on experience and individual tutoring. It means less time spent on costly trial-and-error learning and more time spent on relevant practice. The thrust here is to approach "Training" as part of a continuous improvement. Training practices do not have to be centralized; they just need to be systematized. A systematic approach to job training will ensure that the right skills get to the right people at the right time.

Note; And here we are again 26 years later still advocating for what they call a "Systematic Approach". So, here we are giving them what they wanted a Uniquely Structured Instilled Non-Traditional Training and Educational Processes all within our Private Industry-Based Vocational Technical College University Development. This development with our unique system approach will achieve and deliver each and every day. Offering a start to finish disciplined journey from apprentice through to Journeyman in a fraction of the time, including our educational programs experiencing the real world along the way.

Canadians are being "Miss-Led"? Nothing we don't already know? Have a look.

Yes, indeed "We’ve somehow normalized a system where, you need experience to get a job but you need a job to get experience" This experience curve has always been my "Pet Peeve". That is why I'm determined to develop and deliver this new Industry-Based College University for the people and industry? And at the same time perhaps encourage and instill ambitious entrepreneurs to grow a nation not abuse a nation.

History always tells the real story of how Money (Greed) and "BS" Rhetoric gets in the way of what's good for the people?

Economic Development; The Certified General Accountants Association of Canada observed that no labour growth is expected from 2016 to 2025. (Canadian Business Magazine, March 14-27 /05). "A well orchestrated plan don't you think, Or one hell of a "Crystal Ball"?

Interesting how Investors sit on the side lines with so much $$ and do so little, like this New College/University/Institutional development. "I Guess They Have To Ask For Permission To Step Outside The Narrative Of Things And Remove The Elbows That Hider Our Growth"?

2018 - Media Planet; Unionized labour; new generation of skilled trades workers in demand in Ontario? And on top of all this Canada's biggest investors have a Stunning $1 Trillion Dollars sitting on the sidelines, waiting to be put to work? "BS". Not everything is Union what's very interesting to me ("Only") is how union leaders seem to be so cozy with government? "Where Was The Fight"? Heard No Noise? "Union History" being proud, now we can't "Wobble" or Strike" that's been Extinguished? "A Far Cry From Days Of Old"? With no noise from memberships in the news across the country? "AWE" the days when having a pair meant something? Now Leashes, Kissing Elbows, verses a Wobble or Strike is now taboo? "AWE" even "Oliver Twist" had a Polite Pair. My Thoughts. However, partnerships with various unions will be in the works moving forward with this institutional development?

Interesting, and not difficult to see the transition taking place in front of our eyes.

CFIB- Canadian Federation of Independent Business: November 28, 2018. Over $1.5 Trillion in business assets will be in play over the next decade, as nearly three quarters (72%) of small to medium sized businesses intend to exit their business, according to a new survey by the Canadian Federation of Independent Business. These often family-run businesses make-up almost half of the Canadian economy, and the changes could disrupt two million jobs across the country, the CFIB says. Note; "We have (Had) Colleges & Universities loaded up with International students, and we have (Had) a (Continuous) entrenchment in an aggressive immigration (Invasion) plan where many small businesses being bought up?" Interesting is it not? Mind you they are still getting very creative continuing to bringing them in? My Thoughts.

May 2021 not one word about apprenticeships here in this link? But now it's a global flavor of the month? https://www.thomasnet.com/insights/manufacturers-could-lose-1-trillion-to-worker-shortages/

????"What's your thoughts on this one my fellow Canadian Skilled Tradesman? Isn't funny how intentionally things are ignored"???? My Thoughts Once Again.

  • Let me share a Facebook posting of mine from 2023 - Stating - Hello everyone: What seems to be "Resoundingly Impossible" are the many Educators, Policy Makers, Industry, and even the General Public when being challenged to "Adopt a New Paradigm" that's beneficial to all Canadians addressing Education, Skills, Training, Apprenticeships, Entrepreneurship, Career Alternatives and so much more. Our schools, colleges, and universities today require a challenging opposition for the sake of our children, our students, our unemployed, families and the welfare of our country. Making such a "Paradigm Shift" is not easy. It is "Bold" by "Breaking" the "Mold". It is Flexible, Creative, Challenging, Complex, and Innovative. It addresses our rapidly changing world head on with exciting new possibilities and opportunities. YES, Traditional Institutions will as stated early in this article by "Re-Imagining Themselves".

  • Another Facebook Posting May 21/2020 - There is nothing more "REAL" than the development of Product, People, Profession, and Experience. the value is in the opportunities transferred upon those who appreciate the value that ambition can bring. Success is watching others develop their ambition by bring their success to the table. Only through developing this uniquely designed Institution developed as a New Direct Private Non-Traditional Industry-Based Vocational Technical College University. Where we will develop a much stronger in demand skilled & educated "Canadians" outside of our traditional pathways.

Quote of the day: Everyone says we need more people in the trades. Somehow the electrical trades seems to predominately take preference in endorsing “Electricians”? My Perspective.

Here we are again supporting our strong “Unprecedented Apprenticeship” pipeline to build our next generation in a "Fraction" of the time simply by engaging in our alternative approach. Throughout our unique campus(s) development delivering our Industry-Based Progressive, Process, of Product, People, & Profession throughout our College University. Indeed, all the bases are covered within this college university development. Meaning Skills, Training, Apprenticeships, Education, Career Alternatives, Entrepreneurship and so much more. If industry truly wants more (Master) Skilled Tradesman, they must realize the future of the trades is not built upon “BS” Rhetoric, Non-Tradesman Podium Preachers, and those who seek to “Kiss The Elbow", "Rather Than Shake The Hand Of Respectable Outcomes"? I think I made my point pretty clear on that? My Thoughts.

In resent article postings I had expressed the term “Swellheads”. However, all “Master Class Skilled Trades” are respectfully every bit as important as any other Skilled Tradesman??????

Note: Electricians, apprentices, journeymen 165,000 apprentices quit apprenticeship programs every year. And honestly I don’t think the issue is just the work. I think we’re failing them. We bring apprentices into this industry throw them onto job-sites expect them to figure everything out then wonder why they leave. No mentorship. No leadership. No culture. No real development. Just pressure. The trades keep talking about labor shortages But if we’re losing almost half the people entering the industry, then we need to start asking better questions. Are we actually building electricians? Or are we just throwing people into the field and hoping they survive? Because if electricians, journeymen, foremen, and contractors aren’t investing into the next generation then we’re setting apprentices up to fail before they even have a chance.

"AWE" The Master Class of Manufacturing/Construction just to mention a few, where not everything is Electrical?

Yes, a “Master Electrician”, is the highest level of licensing in the electrical trade. “Red Seal Endorsed” which also includes High-Voltage Power Line Technicians.

Yes, a “Master Carpenter” is a real, highly skilled professional, typically representing the highest level of expertise after years of experience as a Journeyman. “Red Seal Endorsed”

Yes, the positions of “Master Toolmaker” and “Master Mold-Maker” dose exist, representing the highest level of skill, expertise, and experience in the precision manufacturing trade. Both “Red Seal Endorsed”

Yes, a “Master Welder” is generally considered an unofficial, top-tier designation for a highly experienced professional rather than a formal, universal certification, though some institutions do offer “Master Welder” programs. “Red Seal Endorsed”.

Yes, the role of a “Master Machine Fitter/Millwright” exists, typically referring to a highly experienced and “Licensed Industrial Mechanic (Millwright)” who has advanced skills in precision machinery installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting. “Red Seal Endorsed”

Yes, a “Master Machinist” is a highly skilled professional who typically has years of experience, advanced knowledge of “CNC/Manual Machine Operation”, and often holds, or is qualified to teach, apprenticeship training. They posses deep expertise in metalworking. “Red Seal Endorsed”

Yes, a "Master Bricklayer" is a recognized, high-level title. In Canada, to reach this level, individuals progress from an apprentice to a fully certified Journeyman, and eventually achieve "Master" status through years of advanced experience, exams, or traditional guild-style certifications.

Yes, "Auto Mechanics" – now commonly known as "Automotive Service Technicians" – Participate in a formal, recognized trade that leads to “Master Status”, though the specific terminology varies between provincial/national regulation and certification bodies. “Red Seal Endorsed”.

Yes, a “Master" Auto Body and Collision Technician” is considered a skilled trade, officially recognized and regulated in many regions as the “Auto Body and Collision Technician Trade”. In Canada, this trade often leads to a “Red Seal Endorsed”, which acts as the highest national standard of competence for the trade.

Yes, the concept of a “Master Boilermaker” exists, though the official title and path to get there depends on the region and union, generally fall in under the designation of an experienced Journeyman or specialized supervisor. “Red Seal Endorsed”.

Yes, there is a recognized “Master Ironworker” or, more commonly, a “Journeyman Ironworker”, has 3 distinct Ironworker Trades, - Structural, Ornamental, Reinforcing. “Red Seal Endorsed”.

Yes, a “Master Plumber" is the highest level of professional plumbing certification. Red Seal Endorsed.

NOTE: Culinary: Offers Two - One is a Red Seal (Cook): This is a National standard for Journeyman cook in Canada, and it is an interprovincial apprenticeship certification.

Second: Master Chef: This is the highest and most rigorous culinary designation in the country, offered by the "Canadian Culinary Institute" (CCI). To even apply for the Master Chef program, you are usually required to hold a Red Seal certification first, plus have years of senior, executive level experience. Note: I would like to express my interest to entertain a conversation in this matter in the possibility of such programs within this new institutional development.

Blame Google or “AI” I asked the question and got the answer? "In Political Metaphors", a “Herd of Bulls” = USA and a “Flock of Sheep” = Canada they represent two extremes of group behavior: Aggressive, Proactive Power = USA, verses, Canada, = Passive, Compliant Conformity? "AWE" the Choices Elbows are not given us?

GLOBE & MAIL AUG. 26/2003 – UNIVERSITIES IN PERIL OF RUNNING AGROUND – Tricky business, some schools are in better financial shape than others, in large part because of difference in levels of provincial support. The biggest challenge for Canada’s Universities however is stopping the deterioration and perhaps improving the quality of undergraduate education. No, the universities are grappling with a huge backlog of deferred maintenance (even while they construct new buildings), growing class sized and a series of pressures that emphasize faulty research over teaching, especially to undergraduates. "But there has been multibillion dollar investment by the Federal Government in university research. The universities main challenge lies with the undergraduates. They’re paying more for their education in most provinces, but universities would be hard-pressed to argue possibly that students are getting more for there money". Funding budget the lifeline of university financing, hasn’t kept pace with the cost of university education. Research can help but doesn’t drive excellence in undergraduate teaching. A selected handful of Canadian universities have thought privately how to escape the “Tyranny” of low base-budget increases from government by imagining them selves as a “Fully Private Institutions” such as exist in the United States. Those who have toyed with the idea have all broken away from the other universities and from Provincial Governments. So the universities are stuck. They have persuaded some provinces to allow graduate and professional fees to rise. But these measures cannon make-up for limited base-budget increases, fee freezes, and governments, to be stuck. The worry about access, which includes them to keep fee increases down. More important, the health-care is rising faster than any other component. Health care is literally squeezing every other government-financed program. More voters worry about health care than universities. With universities and governments both stuck, something has to suffer. But in a depressing number of cases-is the quality of under-graduates education.

Note: In this institutional development there will be "No Imaginary Mind-Set" of becoming a "Fully Private Industry-Based College University Institution" Because That's What We Will Become.

Summary:

Apprenticeships & Education represents a strategic investment for forward-thinking organizations, the public, and those that require skilled young tradesman replenishing our next generation. However, to reduced recruitment costs and accelerate productivity compared to traditional hiring and training methods. This “Non-Traditional Unprecedented Private Industry-Based Competitive College University Development” creates an innovative alternative. In an era where "intentionally" talent scarcity and the outsourcing of manufacturing was created alongside their rapid technological changes. Apprenticeships have always provided stability, yet there is a continuous undermined (Lucrative) pathways being engaged as Canada's Future-Ready Skills being promoted through Canada's strategic monies to countries (outside of Canada) creating another form of (immigration) pathways continuously undermining Canadians. I like to call it their "Long & Short Term Competitive Advantage Over Domestic Canadians And Our Culture". And what's most disturbing is that Elbows get in the way where one can't comment? $6 Billion for Skills Development? I'm pretty sure we will not see the accountability side but we will see the compromising side on this, meaning Canadians verses Immigrant Skills being developed abroad and most likely paid for with Canadian tax payers monies? My Thoughts.

Why an Apprenticeship? To gainfully accept knowledge and understanding of a practical/practiced-based format securing the interest of a persons future. There are no games here it’s truly one of many respected career changing and challenging processes filled with questions and answers, instilled to resolve sometimes unique situation throughout many problematic challenges enhancing and (Creating Critical Thinkers). A valuable experience for young people where it was mostly men at one time gaining industry experience, side by side with Mentors that were full of knowledge from being experts in their fields. Our real world institutional development is designed to work with, and collaborate with like-minded companies led by embracing their standards, values, and needs. Yes, Apprenticeships can be difficult like anything new, and usually has a 3 month process to settle in, but builds respect among piers recognizing ones consistent transformation obtaining their knowledge and craft.

The Status Quo – Need a Strong Board of Directors, Investors, Partnerships with Industry Sectors that are clearly highlighted in our Maple Leaf Banner above and more. And then there is the "Long Standing Being Ignored, And Or The Lack Of Interest In Partnership(s) With Accredited Institutions". Must be a "Competitive and Private" thing, or they are quite comfortable in their "Oliver Twist" approach for free handouts with no accountability required from government? Note: Once again at some point this development will approach our Trades Unions for a partnership in development and perhaps participate in the realm of Early Stage Mentors if they choose to engage. This reflects upon being a Tradesman, For the Tradesman, by the Tradesman.

One last "Question", with a little "Constructive Criticism" to all the North American CEOs from various OEMs and others. Are you only a Figurehead in a Corporation, Leashed with No Say following the lines, or perhaps you just don't know? What's a CEO, other than being at the top of the food chain. To me it reflects "Citing Economic Opportunities" that reflects growth within your organization. In fact those who built their business from the ground up know what I am talking about?

To Build And Create The Experience Of Opportunities Provided”.

“It’s Not For Me, It’s For Them”

Here I Go Again, presenting a list of Links along with my personal thoughts, "SO", if I hurt your feelings it's intentional.

  1. Seems to be the trend throwing Canadians Tax Maga Money around as if it were theirs? Seen it so many times over 3 decades and still nothing accomplished. We got off lucky (SO FAR) only 6 Billion (Today), the Liberals spent 12 Billion with "NO RESULTS" in 2003. - CANADIAN MACHINERY AND METAL FORMING MAGAZINE JAN/FEB/O3- $12 BILLION BOOST FOR APPRENTICESHIPS. Be rest assured there will be "NO" accountability here either.

  1. As things change and they are, meaning this institutional development will follow its own path being creative and innovative with direct pathways. Not to engage in such nonsense like DEI, WOKE, RHETORIC, or what ever their (LGB) Alphabet Soup is in their vision of "BS" narrative shenanigans. I guess when you don't go with the flow, one needs to Stand Alone? Clearly their are only two genders the "Our All Time Original Favorite" "Man & Woman" anything else is fabricated not original to mankind only something unnatural as it has been expressed by many of us. My Thoughts

  1. Talk is Cheap, when everyone is trying to find their place? Seems like, Unless Innovation is developed within the realm of the so called "Research Intelligent", then there is no innovation? The "Knowledge-Driven Economy" Really, what happened to manufacturing, and the world of apprenticeships before all of todays hype and the thousands of other related jobs? Must be another level of intelligence in the world of "Talent Powered Prosperity" amazing how we will all be saved once again? Smells like an "AI" initiative, endorsed by the Rhetoric Family?

  1. I like the tittle - Canada’s economy is shifting, so how should our workforce adapt? Answer, Nothing happens with Elbows in the way? Only Fairy Tail Stuff? "What's Real Is What's Being Presented In This Institutional Development".

  1. With no disrespect to anyone seems to be a common theme everywhere. However, when I look at a list stating "Specialists" and not one is a tradesman goes without saying???? My Thoughts

  1. These guys crack me up, the star performers for Bankruptcy Protection over 2 years, then our star performer PM tied off the French University loop hole so know other institution could achieve that protection, and now their raising tuition Fees? Bravo, Bravo.

  1. And to think in 2008 when I was to meet with John, instead he sent his Executive Dean to kick me to the street calling me their competitor? LOL, LOL. Well now, things certainly happen for a reason? https://share.google/JtYnONPNF9Fypm74r

  1. "NO" Disrespect but stating that, Canada's future is Union Built is Ludicrous. I can speak here because I have been in various unions throughout my whole working career? So, at this convention with all the Union Elbows Up it must have been difficult to communicate. Not everything is Union, Nor will it be? Working together is a whole different story? Isn't it?

  1. Clearly, I think we've all had enough of this "BS"? Equity, Diversity, Inclusion (EDI) it is under growing scrutiny, fueled by court decisions, policy shifts, and rising criticism in the U.S. and Canada.
